Our Products

We are constantly tinkering away in our workshop with different ideas. As we speak we are playing with some wood, some paper and even an app! But more on that soon. Right now we specialise in unique fingerprint guest books for couples and families. Here is a little more about them.

Kingfisher lovebirds framedThese handpainted watercolour fingerprint guest books are a fun way to get everyone involved in your wedding, commitment or naming. Each drawing is scaled to suit your number of guests (the smallest – 16 x 20″ suits up to 100 guests).

The fingerprint guest book comes fully framed, making it easier for your guests to leave their mark. We also provide full instructions for setting up, along with a guide for your guests and a test sheet for them to try their hand (so to speak) first. We can incorporate your theme into your image with a choice of designs and stamp pad and pen colours to match. We’ll even give you some wipes so your guests can keep their pinkies squeaky clean.

As a guide a fingerprint tree and accompaniments such as the one shown here start from $350 with baby shower, naming and christening fingerprint guest books starting at $200.

Materials used

We thoroughly research all materials and then test them ourselves for ease of use and resistance to fading.

  • Watercolours –  Hydrus Fine Art Liquid Watercolours from Dr. Ph. Martin’s – they are light-fast, archival quality, acid free inks.
  • PaperArches warm-white, hot-pressed, 100% cotton fibre 300gsm paper. It is valued by watercolour artists and printers for its durability as it is acid-free, pH-neutral, gelatin-sized and air-dried. Made in Lorraine, France since 1492 it has been used for many landmark works including the publication of the complete works of Voltaire.
  • Stamp pads – Memento Tear Drop dye inks from Tsukineko. They are fast drying and perfect for picking up individual lines in your fingerprint. They are also fade resistant and come in a wide choice of colours. The Tear Drop shape suits all fingersizes.
  • PensUni-ball black and Artline metallic (gold or silver). They are fast drying, waterproof (although we don’t recommend you test that with your piece!) and won’t fade over time. The metallic pens dry with a slightly embossed finish which reflects beautifully against fingerprints.

It’s that old adage: ‘You get what you pay for’. Hand painted, original pieces using the highest quality materials are going to cost more than a mass produced print using office paper. But what’s the point in getting all of your nearest and dearest to record their presence at your milestone moment if in twenty years’ time you can’t tell if they’re Arthur or Martha because the ink has faded? We love creating new pieces so if you don’t see what you are looking for here or think you might need something bigger we’d love to hear from you about your ideas so we can provide you with a quote.
